We own a Global Manufacturing Company and lived in San Diego from 2012-17.
Due to not being based in San Diego anymore we first decided to keep the property but leasing it out to avoid it
being empty. We were introduced to Ron Fontaine of Fontaine Realty Group, Inc. and Ron immediately took
over a major upgrading and refurbishing project of the kitchen which he completed perfectly through his own
vendor network. We own several other valuable properties in: North America, Europe and Asia so we do have a
long experience with construction, refurbishing, buying and selling properties.
Ron took immediate charge of getting the whole property primed and we quickly developed trust of his very
attentive, resourceful and entrepreneurial mindset. He swiftly closed a rental agreement with a family who rented
for one year and he managed the contract and negotiated secure payments for a mutually successful one-year
rental, without any issues whatsoever (despite us owners living overseas).
We then, in Sep 2022 decided we would prefer to sell. Ron with his team and their well-controlled multiple
trusted subcontractors and vendors (this is a major skill of Ron’s, knowing HOW TO SKILLFULLY MANAGE all vendors
and subcontractors) delivered on upgrading key aspects of the whole property. We noticed how the vendors and
subcontractors not only delivered but also enjoyed, respected and even admired Ron and his team. He treated
them all as trusted professional friends once they had managed to establish such mutually valuable relationship.
Ron always offer respect, dignity, but with a no-nonsense straight forward and firm professional attitude. He
negotiated all costs and we never once got a single quote that was too high or not in line with a project, and there were
dozens of quotes. Ron is the kind of guy who won’t let that slip through and his vendors know that he says what
he means and means what he says, and that the buck stops with him.
He doesn’t shift around responsibility, but instead assumes it and clearly delegates it as he sees fit. The yard
work, driveway, roof & skylights, front entrance, several lawns, gates, painting, finishing and stucco all over the
house etc. were all professionally upgraded and completed right on time and held firmly by Ron in all directions
to the originally agreed budget. Not a single slip up!
While we had certainly put lots of genuine TLC and several strategically important investments into the property
over the years Ron’s professionalism in priming our property for a transition added real value to the property on
top and he also studied the market comprehensively and shared his data with us, so we could smoothly conclude
what we should list the property for. We did well in trusting Ron and following his many insightful and valuable
instincts. He again finished all the refurbishing and important upgrades with shining colors, and we ultimately sold
this unique property to highly suited buyers after being listed on the market only for a brief period.
As a global manufacturer we know by experience that we are only as good as our weakest links. To be good at
selling we should first be good at buying, so we can ultimately offer each other real value. We always therefore
observe how anyone representing ourselves or our company treats and engages with his or her vendors and
suppliers. Ron is truly excellent at managing those relationships, as well as managing the sellers, buyers and the
process, and we will not say this lightly. He is clearly rock solid at what he does and it’s always a genuine pleasure
